Jasprit Bumrah was once again India's lone warrior with the ball and ensured that India managed to get a slender lead of six runs despite the rest of the bowling attack struggling as England batters enjoyed a field day on Day 2 and 3 of the first Test at the Headingley Cricket Ground in Leeds.
Despite four dropped catches of his bowling and a wicket of a no-ball, Bumrah took a five-wicket haul as England were bowled out for 471. The 31-year-old finished with figures of 5-83, which included the dismissals of Zak Crawley, Ben Duckett, Joe Root, Chris Woakes, and Josh Tongue.
Jasprit Bumrah Shatters Record Books
With his stunning spell, Bumrah shattered the record books as a day after beat Wasim Akram's record (147)for the most wickets by an Asian pacer in SENA (South Africa, England, New Zealand, and Australia, he became the first player form the continent to take 150 wickets in these four countries.
This was also Bumrah's 10th five-wicket haul in SENA nations, and he is first Indian and third Asian after Akram and Muttiah Muralitharan to achieve the feat. Before Bumrah, Kapil Dev topped the list among Indian players (7) with Zaheer Khan (6) and Anil Kumble narrowly behind.

This was also Burmah's 12th five-wicket haul outside, which is the joint-most by an Indian alongside Kapil Dev. The star pacer has reached the milestone four times in Australia, thrice each in South Africa and England as well as twice in the West Indies.
Jasprit Bumrah - Only Behind Curtly Ambrose In Test Cricket History
Among visiting nation players, Bumrah is only the fourth cricketer in history to take 150 wickets in SENA nations. Among them, Bumrah has the second-best average and is just narrowly behind West Indies cricket legend Curtly Ambrose and the first player since him to have a bowling average less than 21.
