
Sanjiv Goenka Sends Special Message To Rishabh Pant After Record-Breaking Century Vs England

India had a fantastic first innings with the bat in the first Test against England as three Indian batters slammed centuries to get them to a total of 471. Rishabh Pant was one of the batters who scored a century, as he continued to extend his great run in Test cricket. He even overtook MS Dhoni as the Indian wicketkeeper with the most Test hundreds, as he smashed 134. Pant, who captains Lucknow Super Giants, received a special message from his owner, Sanjiv Goenka, who praised him.
Rishabh Pant slammed 134 runs in an innings studded with 12 fours and 6 sixes. In fact, he reached his century with a massive six off the ball of Shoaib Bashir. Sanjiv Goenka praised this attitude of the Team India vice-captain. He also praised Yashasvi Jaiswal and Shubman Gill for scoring centuries as well.

England won the toss and elected to bowl first. Yashasvi Jaiswal and KL Rahul, who opened the batting, had a brilliant stand of 91 runs. Rahul was the first wicket to fall after scoring 42 runs by Brydon Carse. Just a few balls later, Sai Sudharsan, the new batter at no.3 was dismissed for a duck, as he had a debut to forget.
After lunch, Jaiswal and captain Shubman Gill continued India's onslaught. The duo went on to slam a century partnership. Jaiswal went on to score a century in his first innings on English soil. He was dismissed for 101. After that Rishabh Pant and Gill continued to score the runs with a double century stand, with Gill going on to be dismissed after hitting 147. Pant too slammed a century, as he scored 130.
After that, the Indian batters fell like a pack of cards, as they were all for 471.
