India are currently taking on England in the first Test of the five-match series at the Headingley Cricket Ground in Leeds. India have a new look batting order, with the retirements of Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma. One of new batters who came into the lineup was Karun Nair. who returned to the India playing XI after a gap of 8 years. He came into this game on the back of some good form in the warm-up matches, especially in the first unofficial test between India A and England Lions, where he slammed a double century. However, he fell pretty short of expectations on his much-awaited return.
Karun Nair came out to bat at no.6 after Shubman Gill had departed post scoring a brilliant hundred. However, his innings lasted only four balls. He tried to drive a ball past the covers off Ben Stokes. However, the ball was in the air, as Ollie Pope took a blinder of a catch, that too with one hand.
Karun Nair's return thus ended with a four-ball duck.
The other new batter in the libeup, Sai Sudharsan, who made his Test debut, also failed to score, as he too got out for a four-ball duck walking in to bat at no.3.
