Rishabh Pant etched his name in the history books during the first day of play in the first Test of the 2025 Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy at the Headingley Cricket Ground in Leeds on Friday (June 20) as he scored a half-century to ensure India ensured they made the most of a strong start.
After a troubled season with the bat in the 2025 Indian Premier League (IPL), Pant reassured India that he remains their biggest match-winner in the longest format of the game. The newly appointed vice-captain of the Indian team was unbeaten on 65 at stumps as India finished the day's play at 359-3 after centuries from Yashasvi Jaiswal and Shubman Gill.

(Note: It is worth noting that the list does not include home matches for the players of the four countries in question. eg. Gilchrist's runs in Australia are not added but his tally in New Zealand, South Africa, and England are. Runs from players from the remaining Test nations, namely India, Sri Lanka, West Indies, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Zimbabwe, Afghanistan, and Ireland are counted in all countries.)
Pant has four tons, which is the second-most in this list, and the most by an Asian player. The Indian star is also nearing Dhoni's record for the most runs by a visiting batter in England and has a good chance to break the record. Pant is nearing a historic third ton in England. No other visiting keeper in history, apart from the 27-year-old has more than one ton in England.
