Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) star Jacob Bethell fulfilled a fan's wish and smashed a six while playing for England in the 2nd T20I of the series in Bristol on Sunday (June 8). The left-handed batsman left the IPL season early and didn't play the playoffs and the final. RCB defeated Punjab Kings in the final to lift the trophy for the first time in 18 years.

Bethell, who scored 26 off 10 balls in England's chase to the target of 197, was batting against Alzarri Joseph when a fan raised a playcard which read: "Score a 6 for my grandma!" The left-handed batsman quickly fulfilled the fan's wish and hit the pacer for a six.

Batting with a strike rate of 260, Bethell hit 3 sixes and a four in his knock. Ben Duckett and Jos Buttler kept England in the chase after losing the early wicket of Jamie Smith. They added 63 runs for the second wicket in just 37 balls.

Duckett hit 30 off 18 balls while Buttler smashed 47 off 36 balls. Captain Harry Brook also played a key role in the win with an unbeaten 34 off 20 balls. Tom Banton remained unbeaten on 30 off 11 balls as England chased down 197 in just 18.3 overs.

Luke Wood was adjudged the Player of the Match for his brilliant spell of 4-0-25-2. He was the only bowler who bowled under an economy rate of 7 (minimum 2 overs).

The action will now move to Southampton for the 3rd T20I to be played on June 10. The fixture will kick off at 11:00 PM IST. WI are yet to win a game in the series. The visitors lost the ODI series 3-0. They have also lost both T20Is and a defeat in 3rd T20I will see them return to Ireland empty-handed.

WI played an ODI series against Ireland before landing in England. The two teams will now play a three-match T20I series. The ODI series ended 1-1. The second ODI was washed out due to rain in Dublin.
