Rain threat looms large on the IPL 2025 final between Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) and Punjab Kings (PBKS) at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. According to AccuWeather, there is over a 50 percent chance of rain in the afternoon on June 3. The forecast gets better in the evening, boosting hopes of an uninterrupted game, but there will be a 33 percent cloud cover, which will keep the teams on their toes.
The IPL final is a monumental game for RCB and PBKS as both teams are yet to win the IPL trophy. They had a fairly similar run in the league stage and won nine out of the 14 matches. RCB defeated PBKS in Qualifier 1, but PBKS bounced back to defeat Mumbai Indians in Qualifier 2 to book a title clash with RCB.
While there is a significant rain threat on the scheduled day, the possibility of a full play is also high. If the match is delayed due to rain, an extra 120 minutes can be added to get the match finished. If the rain is heavy and play is not possible, there is a reserve day in place as well.
The forecast for the reserve day is much better, so a complete washout in the IPL final is very unlikely. However, weather can be unpredictable and if there comes a situation that the final cannot be played due to bad weather, Punjab Kings will be declared winners as they finished higher on the points table.

How Many Times RCB And PBKS Played IPL Final?

RCB reached the IPL final thrice, but suffered defeats in all games. They lost to Deccan Chargers in IPL 2009, Chennai Super Kings in 2011 and Sunrisers Hyderabad in 2016. Meanwhile, PBKS played the final in 2014 against Kolkata Knight Riders, and also suffered a defeat.
