Rain threat looms large over the IPL final between Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) and Punjab Kings (PBKS). According to AccuWeather, there are thunderstorms predicted on Tuesday, and rain could play spoilsport during the blockbuster clash.
RCB and PBKS have waited long for their maiden IPL title, and one of the teams will see the dream come true on June 3. The loser, however, will suffer yet another heartbreak, probably the worst they've experienced to date. All this will be possible only if the rain stays away.
RCB qualified for the final after beating PBKS by eight wickets, so they will hold a slight psychological advantage, but PBKS defeated Mumbai Indians in convincing fashion to make a clear statement.

What Happens If The Final Is Washed Out?

The umpires would be keen to get the match finished on June 3. A short spell of rain should not be a problem, as 120 minutes of extra time will be added to the play to finish the game. However, if the rain is heavy and play is not possible on Tuesday, there is a reserve day in place.
If play is not possible even on the reserve day, the team that finished higher on the points table will be crowned Champions. Punjab Kings finished as table toppers after the end of the league stage, with nine wins in 14 matches, and in case rain washes out the play on Tuesday and the reserve day, the Shreyas Iyer-led team will be crowned champions.

What If A Match Ends In A Tie?

If the match ends in a tie, a Super Over will be played. If the super over is also tied, another one will be played till the time the match has a winner.
