Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) finally ended their 18-year-long wait as they defeated Punjab Kings (PBKS) in the IPL 2025 final to clinch their long-awaited maiden IPL title. The great Virat Kohli also achieved the one trophy that was missing from his illustrious cabinet. In fact, he also contributed with the bat during this match. Kohli was pretty emotional after the monumental win. However, in a chat after the game, Kohli also took a brutal dig at the online trolls who have made fun of the team for the past number of years.
In an interaction with Star Sports after the IPL 2025 final, Virat Kohli revealed that he took a lot of stress and listened to a lot of negativity about RCB from trolls. However, this negativity made the team stronger. He also revealed that he would sleep peacefully now.
“God is great. I'm in a space where the anchor has fallen and I'm just loose on excitement. I just want to sleep properly! I took a lot of stress, listened to a lot of things. RCB yeh, RCB vo. Bohot logo ne bohot troll kiya, bohot mazak banaaya (Lots of people trolled us, made fun of us)," Kohli said.
"But that made us stronger, closer as a team and as a franchise. The relationship between fans and us is strong. I will just sleep peacefully now,” he added.

Virat Kohli, in a heartfelt post on his Instagram account, dedicated the momentous IPL trophy wins to the fans, who have been with the team through all the ups and downs.
"This team made the dream possible, a season I’ll never ever forget. We’ve thoroughly enjoyed the ride over the last 2.5 months. This one is for the fans of rcb who never ever left our side in the worst of times. This one is for all the years of heartbreak and disappointment. This is for every inch of effort left on the field playing for this team. As far as the IPL trophy is concerned, you’ve made me wait 18 years to be able to lift you and celebrate my friend, but it’s been absolutely worth the wait," Kohli wrote.
