The IPL 2025 match between Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) and Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) was washed out due to heavy rain in Bengaluru. The rain arrived in the city nearly an hour before the toss. The heavy rain in the city forced the officials to cancel the game.
RCB announced a refund for the fans due to the washout. The franchise announced that all the ticket holders would get a full refund. "As the game between RCB and KKR on 17th May 2025 was abandoned due to inclement weather, all valid ticket holders are eligible for a full refund. Digital ticket holders will be issued refund within 10 working days to their original account used to book the tickets. In case you do not receive refund by 31st May, kindly send an email to
[email protected] with booking details to escalate the matter," RCB wrote on X.
"Physical ticket holders are required to surrender their original ticket to the respective official source from where they purchased the tickets, in order to claim refund. Refunds are not applicable for complimentary tickets. For more information on refund process kindly send email to
[email protected] Terms and Conditions Apply."
The fans had planned a special tribute for Virat Kohli and many of them came to the venue in white t-shirts - Virat recently retired from Test cricket. He finished his 14-year-long Test career on May 12.
RCB will play their last home game against Sunrisers Hyderabad on May 23 and the fans will have one more opportunity to celebrate Virat's Test career.
The washed out game saw both teams getting a point each. With 17 points, RCB sit at the top spot in the IPL 2025 points table. They are followed Gujarat Titans. KKR only have 12 points and they are now out of the tournament.
