Bharat Ratna For Virat Kohli: Suresh Raina Makes Bold Appeal (Source: AP)

Virat Kohli will go down as one of the greatest cricketers to ever play the game, not only because of what he achieved on the field, but also how he inspired the new generation of cricketers. At a time when Test cricket was battling for survival, Virat Kohli stood tall and showed the world how entertaining this format can be. Kohli recently retired from the Test format, scoring 9230 runs in 123 Tests, with 30 centuries.
Former India cricketer Suresh Raina lauded Kohli for his contribution to Indian cricket and demanded Bharat Ratna for the India great. Sachin Tendulkar is the only cricketer to receive India's highest civilian honour. He was conferred with the award in 2014 and became the youngest recipient of the award.
"I feel the Indian government should award him the Bharat Ratna because he has achieved so many things for India," Raina said on Star Sports.

Virat Kohli Deserves A Farewell Match In Delhi

Kohli's retirement came as a surprise to many, as the BCCI wanted him to be on the flight to England, despite his low returns in the last few years. However, Kohli wasn't keen to continue and made up his mind after a poor show in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy.
Meanwhile, Raina further said that Virat Kohli deserves a farewell match in Delhi. "I also feel he should be given a retirement match in Delhi. His family and coach would have been there to support him. After doing so much for the country, you communicate with him because he deserves a retirement match."
The RCB fans paid an emotional tribute to Virat Kohli on Saturday after they turned out in white jerseys to celebrate his Test career. Unfortunately, they couldn't see Virat Kohli play as the match was washed out due to rain in Bengaluru.
