Rajasthan Royals (RR) will host Punjab Kings (PBKS) in the 59th match of IPL 2025 at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium on Sunday (May 18). The fixture will be played from 3:30 PM IST. RR received a huge boost before the game as Sanju Samson cleared the fitness test. He was out of action due to a side strain. Sanju played his previous game for RR on April 16.

Riyan Parag once again took over the charge in his absence and led the team. The wicketkeeper-batsman is now fit and ready to lead RR.

Riyan made his captaincy debut for RR in their first game of IPL 2025. He led RR in the first 3 games. Sanju played these matches as an Impact Player as he wasn't fit to keep wickets.

Samson might bat in the middle-order and Vaibhav Suryavanshi might keep his spot at the top. Yashasvi Jaiswal is confirmed to open the innings for RR.

Rajasthan Royals have only managed 3 wins from 12 matches and are already out of IPL 2025. They have 6 points in their account. RR will aim to avoid a last-place finish in the points table.

As for PBKS, they have 7 wins in 11 matches and sit at the third spot. The Shreyas Iyer-led side can move to the top spot if they defeat RR.

PBKS are a strong contender to qualify for the playoffs for the first time IPL 2014. Their previous match against Delhi Capitals was suspended due to a technical failure. The match will be played on May 24 in Jaipur.

Gujarat Titans presently acquire the top spot. The Shubman Gill-led side has 8 wins and 16 points from 11 matches. They are followed by Royal Challengers Bengaluru, who have same number of wins and points.
