Former India cricketer Harbhajan Singh found himself in hot soup after his controversial remark on the fanbase of Indian cricketers in comparison to MS Dhoni went viral. While speaking on the future of CSK captain, Harbhajan said Dhoni fans would want to see him play another IPL season. Lauding the fanbase of MS Dhoni, Harbhajan said only Dhoni has real fans, while calling fans of other cricketers social media or paid fans. Harbhajan's remark didn't sit well with Virat Kohli fans as they felt the former cricketer took a dig at the India great.

"He can play as long as he can. Had it been my team, I would have made a different decision. Fans will want him to continue playing. I feel he has a real fan base; the rest are all on social media, which are even paid fans. Leave them out, because if we start discussing that, the discussion will go in a different direction," Harbhajan said on Star Sports on the sidelines of the RCB vs KKR match at the Chinnaswamy Stadium.

Former India cricketer Aakash Chopra, who was present in the panel, burst into laughter at the remark and said Harbhajan shouldn't have spoken the truth.

"Itna sach nehi bolna tha (You weren't supposed to be this honest)." Harbhajan showed no hesitation in responding: "Someone had to."

Fans Pay Tribute To Virat Kohli

Meanwhile, RCB fans came out in large numbers to pay tribute to Virat Kohli after he announced his retirement from test cricket. The fans ran a campaign and pledged to turn Chinnaswamy into a white sea during RCB vs KKR clash to celebrate Virat Kohli's Test career. Thousands of fans came to the stadium wearing white jerseys to pay their tribute to Kohli. Unfortunately, they could not see Virat Kohli play as the match was washed out due to rain.
