India finally avenged the dastardly terrorist attack in Baisaran Valley in Pahalgam, Kashmir, two weeks after the tragic incident took place where 26 innocent tourists were brutally gunned down. The Indian Army launched Operation Sindoor at 1.44 AM on May 7 (Wednesday), where they shot down 9 separate places in Pakistan and PoK where major terror camps are located. This monumental attack by the Indian Armed Forces received plaudits all across the nation, and former India batter Virender Sehwag has too joined in with a popular quote from the Mahabharata.

In a post on his X account, Virender Sehwag hailed the Indian army for their monumental attack. He also quoted the popular phrase from the Mahabharata - 'Dharmo Rakshati Rakshata'.

"Dharmo Rakshati Rakshata. Jai Hind ki Sena. (Dharma protects the one who protects it. Victory to the Indian Army)," Sehwag wrote

Apart from Sehwag other cricketers too lauded the Indian army for their monumental response to the Pahalgam tragedy. Sehwag's long-time opening partner and current India head coach Gautam Gambhir shared the official graphic of Operation Sindoor, with just 'Jai Hind' written in the caption.

Cricketers like Suresh Raina, Pragyan Ojha and Varun Chakaravarthy among others, also shared their pride for the Indian Army

In a statement, the Indian Army confirmed that their actions were focussed measured and non-escalatory in nature. They have only targeted terrorist facilities and no Pakistani military facilities were targeted.

“Our actions have been focused, measured and non-escalatory in nature. No Pakistani military facilities have been targeted. India has demonstrated considerable restraint in the selection of targets and method of execution," he added.
