Former South Africa captain Shaun Pollock and former Australia great Adam Gilchrist picked the greatest IPL XI on Monday and reserved the highest praise for star India bowler Jasprit Bumrah. Pollock and Gilchrist spoke at length about Bumrah, who has been instrumental in helping the Mumbai Indians come back into the tournament after a slow start in IPL 2025. While picking the XI, the former South Africa captain said that Bumrah has been sensational, and the fact that he can bowl at any point in an innings makes him an asset for any side in the world.

"The fast bowling one I will touch on is Jasprit Bumrah. I think he is sensational. That action, so difficult to deal with, the different deliveries he possesses, control, bowls with the new ball, bowls in the middle, bowls at the death. He is just been sensational and he has got more wickets than Malinga. So that's a real feather in his cap," Pollock said on Crizbuzz.

Gilchrist went a step further and said that by the time Bumrah is done playing, he will be in every all-time XI in every format of the game.

"Yeah. That is there. Good numbers. I think by the time he is finished playing, he will be in every all-time XI in every format of the game," Gilchrist added.

Former West Indies great Chris Gayle and star India batter Virat Kohli were picked as openers, while the No.3, 4, and 5 slots went to Suresh Raina, AB de Villiers, and Suryakumar Yadav. Both the cricketers chose MS Dhoni as the captain at No.6, followed by Ravindra Jadeja, Sunil Narine, Bumrah, Lasith Malinga, and Yuzvendra Chahal.
