Rajasthan Royals will look to break their losing streak in the IPL 2025 as they take on Lucknow Super Giants in the second match of the double header day on April 19 (Saturday) at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur. RR come into the game with just two wins in 7 games, lying on the 8th position of he points table. To add insult to their injury, captain Sanju Samson is not playing. In his place, stand-in captain Riyan Parag confirmed that RR have brought in Vaibhav Suryavanshi, who creates history on his debut.

Vaibhav Suryavanshi at 14 years and 23 days becomes the youngest player to ever play in an IPL match. In fact, he is now the first player born after the IPL began 18 years ago to feature in a match in the league. Suryavanshi breaks the record of Prayas Ray Burman who made his debut for RCB in IPL 2019 at the age of 16.

Vaibhav Suryavanshi was born on March 27, 2011, in Bihar’s Tajpur village. He was born into a family of farmers, and started playing cricket at the age of 9. He made his debut for Bihar at just 12 years old in the Vinoo Mankad Trophy, where he scored just 400 runs in 5 games.

He made his first-class debut for Bihar in the Ranji Trophy 2023 as just 12 years and 283 days. He thus became the youngest player to play the Ranji Trophy since 1986 and the second youngest to play for Bihar. Overall, he was the fourth youngest player to play the Ranji Trophy.

He made his India U-19 debut for India in a youth Test match against Australia in Chennai, thus making him the youngest player to play for India U-19. He also slammed a 64-ball century in his debut match. He was also part of the India squad in the U-19 Asia Cup held last year.

At the age of just 13, he was roped in for Rs 1.10 crore by Rajasthan Royals in the IPL 2025 auction, thus becoming the youngest-ever player to be bought in the IPL auction.
