Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) suffered their fifth defeat of the IPL 2025 season and remained at the 9th spot in the points table after losing to Mumbai Indians (MI). Courtesy of Abhishek Sharma's century, the IPL 2024 runners-up made a solid comeback against Punjab Kings and chased down a big target of 246. They failed to continue their form and couldn't defend the target of 163 against MI at the Wankhede Stadium.

Cummins, who impressed one and all with his impressive captaincy skills in IPL 2024, has struggled in the ongoing season. Pat's wife, Becky Cummins, sparked the rumours of them leaving India after the defeat against MI. She shared a pic of herself and Pat from an airport and captained the post: "Goodbye India, we have loved visiting this beautiful country."

Becky's post has sparked the rumours of Pat leaving IPL 2025 midway. There is no official word from the franchise and nothing can be confirmed as of yet.

SRH have a break now and they will make their on-field return against Mumbai Indians on April 23. The rematch between the two teams will take place in Hyderabad.

An official word on Cummins should be out in the next few days. SRH do not have a designated vice-captain and it remains to be seen who leads them if the pacer leaves the tournament.

SRH kicked off their season with a win over Rajasthan Royals but have struggled since then. They suffered four back-to-back defeats against Lucknow Super Giants, Delhi Capitals, Kolkata Knight Riders and Gujarat Titans, respectively.

SRH returned to winning ways against Punjab Kings but suffered another defeat against MI. Another few defeats will push them to the cusp of an early elimination. Chennai Super Kings have also managed 2 wins from 7 matches and they could also get eliminated early.
