India are currently taking on England in the second Test of the five-match series at the Edgbaston Cricket Ground in Birmingham. Team India would be looking to win this match, especially after a defeat in the first Test at Edgbaston, and level the series 1-1. Captain Shubman Gill's form was one of the biggest positives in the first Test as he slammed 147 in the first innings. He continued his form in the second Test as well, as he slammed yet another century as India were put into bat in the first innings.
Shubman Gill ended Day 1 being unbeaten on 114 runs from 216 balls. If he scores 36 more runs on Day 2 of the second Test then he will become the first Indian ever to slam in excess of 150 runs at Edgbaston. Virat Kohli holds the record for the highest Test score by an Indian at the venue, when he hit 149 in 2018.
Here are the Indian players with the highest individual scores at Edgbaston:

Shubman Gill Creates History
Shubman Gill has become the youngest Asian captain in history to score multiple tons in England (25 years, 297 days). In fact, he is the first player from Asia and India to achieve the rare feat before turning 26. Graeme Smith is the only other player to have scored multiple centuries on English soil as captain of a visiting team at the age of 25. The South African star quite remarkably achieved the feat aged 22 years 180 days. Smith had remarkably scored back-to-back double tons as captain in the Proteas' tour of England in 2003. Javed Burki of Pakistan is the only Asian captain to score a century in England at the age of 25.
