Indian cricket legend MS Dhoni is celebrating his 15th wedding anniversary today (July 4) with his wife, Sakshi. The couple got married to each other in 2010 in a private ceremony, which took place in Dehradun, which was largely kept secretive, with news of the function only coming out after the celebrations concluded.
On Friday, Sakshi took to Instagram to mark the special occasion with a one-word post, which quickly went viral and won the hearts of cricket fans as the couple showered love on each other.
"We made a promise ! Onto 16th," wrote Saksh on Instagram with an image of herself and Dhoni holding hands.
The post also gave a rare glimpse into MS' life away from the cricket field. The Chennai Super Kings (CSK) star stays in Ranchi with his family and is not active on social media. The Indian cricket legend rarely posts on his account on Instagram.
Talking about MS and Sakshi, they have a daughter Ziva, who was born in February 2015. She celebrated her 10th birthday earlier this year.
As far as MS is concerned, he is yet to confirm if he will play in the 2026 Indian Premier League (IPL) as speculation over his future continues fo another year. While the wicket-keeper batter retired from international cricket in 2020 and last played for India in the 2019 World Cup, he has continued to play the IPL. In the 2025 edition, he was the oldest player and is the third-oldest player to ever play in the league. This season he also became the oldest captain in history of the league after an injury to Ruturaj Gaikwad meant he returned to the top job.
After CSK's last match in IPL 2025, where they finished last on the table, Dhoni claimed he has not decided if he wants to play next season.
"It depends. Again, I would say the same thing: I have four-five months to decide, there's no hurry to decide what needs to be done. Every year, it's 15% more effort to keep the body fit - not to forget this is top-level cricket. It's professional cricket - you have to be at your best - and it's not always performance that you can count, because if cricketers start retiring because of performance then a few of them will retire when they're 22," said MS.
"What is important to see is how much hunger you have, what kind of fitness you have, and how much you can contribute to the team, and whether the team needs you or not. So I have enough time. I will go back to Ranchi - haven't been home for a long time - enjoy a few bike rides, [take a] couple of months and then decide. I'm not saying I'm done, I'm not saying I'm coming back. As I said, I have the luxury of time. When you have the luxury then why not think about it and then decide," MS added.
MS Dhoni will celebrate his 44th birthday on Monday (July 7).
