'I Was A Model, He Forced Me To...': Mohammed Shami's Estranged Wife Makes Explosive Claims (Source: Instagram)
Mohammed Shami's estranged wife, Hasin Jahan, welcomed the Calcutta High Court's order directing the pacer to pay 4 lakh monthly alimony to her and her daughter. Jahan said Shami forced her to leave her profession and become a housewife. Shami and Jahan got married in 2014 and had a daughter a year later. The marriage didn't last long as the couple parted ways in 2018 after Jahan accused him of domestic violence and adultery.
“I used to model and act before I got married. Shami forced me to quit my profession. He wanted me to live only a housewife's life. I loved Shami so much that I happily accepted it... But now I have no earnings of my own. Shami has to bear all the responsibility for our maintenance. That is why we had to approach the court when he denied this,” Hasin Jahan told ANI.
“Thank God there is a law in our country which orders people to bear their responsibilities... If you are entering a relationship with someone, it is not written on their face that they have a poor character, are a criminal, or will play with your and your daughter's future... I too became a victim like this...” she added.
Hasin Jahan had moved to the Calcutta High Court after a district session court had ordered Shami to pay 50,000 to Hasin Jahan and 80000 to her daughter. However, the High Court overturned the decision and asked Shami to pay 1.5 lakh to Hasin Jahan and 2.5 lakh to her daughter.
