It's not often that a catch goes to Ravindra Jadeja and the batter is still out there in the middle. Ben Duckett got a rare reprieve as Jadeja dropped him in the seventh over at a score of 15. The lefty slashed the delivery to the right of Jadeja at a catchable height, but he failed to hang on to it. Having lost Crawley early, it would have been a body blow to England, but the batter survived, and England punched back at India with quick runs. The drop prove costly for India as Ben Duckett and Ollie Pope went on to take England past the 100-run mark, with Duckett reaching his fifty.
The drop invited a sharp swipe from the Barmy Army, who took to X and wrote, "Thought Ravindra Jadeja was the best fielder in the world?"

England Claw Back After Jaiswal, Gill, Pant Assault

At 430-3, England were staring at a score of around 600; however, captain Ben Stokes turned the pendulum in England's favour. Shubman Gill was the first one to go for 147 before Karun Nair departed for a duck. Rishabh Pant, who was playing freely, got under pressure after the fall of two quick wickets and departed for 134. The tail didn't wag and India were bowled out for 471.
It's a good wicket to bat on and England have a strong batting lineup. A score of 600 would have batted England out of the game; however, the Three Lions would now feel they have a real chance of making a match out of it. Given the firepower they have in the batting, they could knock off the score in about 100 overs, which will put India in a spot of bother. Another worry for India is that barring Jasprit Bumrah, other bowlers have looked ordinary.
