India are currently taking on England in the first Test of the five-match series at the Headingley Cricket Ground in Leeds. This is the first time that the team are playing a Test after the retirements of Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma. In fact, India are also playing without Ashwin, as he too retired in the third Test between India and Australia in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy back in December 2024. With the legendary trio ot part of the Indian Test team after a long time, Ashwin's wife has shared a cryptic message on her Instagram account.

Ashwin's wife, Prithi, in a story on her Instagram profile, revealed that she had mixed feeling as India started their Test match against England. She said that now she would have to find a different way to love it, probably hinting that she has to now watch a Test series featuring India without her husband and legendary spinner in the mix.

"Test match day for India, and I woke up with many mixed feelings. Have to find a different way to love it and unlearn the only way I knew to," she said.

England won the toss and elected to bat first. Yashasvi Jaiswal and KL Rahul, who opened the batting had a brilliant stand of 91 runs. Rahul was the first wicket to fall after scoring 42 runs by Brydon Carse. Just a few balls later, Sai Sudharsan, the new batter at no.3 was dismissed for a duck, as he had a debut to forget. India went into lunch on a score of 92/2.
