Ishan Kishan has been out of the Indian cricket team for a while now. He last played for India against Australia in a T20I in November 2023. He was denied a BCCI contract for the 2023-2024 season due to his absence from domestic cricket. Ishan Kishan got a contract from the BCCI for the ongoing season; however, he wasn't failed to get back to the Indian team.
Kishan could have been a great addition to the Indian test team, especially after the retirement of Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli; however, he will have to wait much longer to get his place back.
Ishan Kishan To Play For New Team
Meanwhile, during the free window, Ishan Kishan will play for Nottinghamshire in County cricket. Kishan has signed a short-term deal to play two matches for the County side. The left-hander replaced injured Kyle Verreynne in the squad and will be available to play against Yorkshire from June 22. Kishan is known for his one-day skills, but he has a decent record in first-class cricket as well, with 3447 runs in 58 games, including 17 half-centuries and eight hundreds.
Kishan was delighted to have signed a deal and said that playing in the County will help him become the best version of him.
"I'm feeling very excited to get my first taste of playing county cricket in England, and it will be a great chance to showcase my skills," Kishan said. "I want to make sure I am the best cricketer I can be, and playing in English conditions will really help me to learn new skills.
"Trent Bridge is such a famous ground that is well-known in India and around the world, and I am really excited that I will be playing there."
Kishan will join Tilak Varma (Hampshire), Ruturaj Gaikwad (Yorkshire), and Yuzvendra Chahal (Northamptonshire) in the County season.
