India are all set to take on England in a five-match Test Series beginning on June 20 (Friday). This will mark their first foray into the World Test Championship 2025-27 cycle. Jasprit Bumrah will be India's most crucial weapon in this series, as he will lead the bowling attack. However, the big worrying news for the team is that he would only be playing three out of the five Tests owing to workload management issues. While it has not been confirmed as to which three matches he would be playing, former India star Dinesh Karthik has made the prediction.

In an interaction with Sky Sports, Dinesh Karthik said that Jasprit Bumrah might play the first, second and fourth Test matches in Headingley, Edgbaston and Old Trafford respectively. This is because, there will be enough gap of time between the games. The first Test and second Test will be played between a gap of 8 days. On the other hand, the gap between the second and fourth Test is that of 17 days.

“I have a feeling from hearing whatever I heard that he has been scheduled to play three Test matches. But I think he will play the first, second, and fourth Tests. These numbers make sense because the breaks are sufficient," Karthik said.

In an interaction with Dinesh Karthik on Sky Sports, Jasprit Bumrah has confirmed that he would be playing only three out of the five matches in the series, with the first Test being a surity. He also said that this was the reason that he did not want to be captain.

"3 test matches are what I am looking at. First is definitely on. The rest we will see what is the plan. Yes, that is going to happen. Rest, we see how things are. What is the workload? What is the scenario. 3 Test matches is what I can manage at this moment. I don't want to be in a desperate situation. That is one part of it, as a captain, I cannot be dictating, I will only play 3 matches. That does not send a good message to the team. So, of all these things keeping n mind. Trying to give my best as a player. Hopefully, in the games I play, I give my best," Bumrah said.
