South Africa are currently taking on Australia in the World Test Championship (WTC) 2025 final at the iconic Lord's Cricket Ground in London, Engkand. The Proteas will be looking to win their firsty ICC trophy since 1998, and end their 27-year-old drought. For South Africa, a key player for them is certainly their superstar fast bowler Kagiso Rabada. As Australia aims to build on their lead of 74 runs in the third innings, Rabada has made life difficult for them, and has managed to create history.
In the third innings of the WTC 2025, Australia lost two wickets in the second session of Day 2, in the form of Usman Khawaja and Cameron Green. Both these wickets were taken by Kagiso Rabada. The South African quick had picked up a five-wicket haul in the first innings. Hence, in total, he has picked up 7 wickets in this match. He now becomes the bowler with the most wickets in a single WTC Final.
Rabada breaks the record of New Zealand's Kyle Jamieson and Australia's Pat Cummins who have taken 6 wickets each in the WTC 2021 and 2025 finals, respectively.
