India are all set to take on England in a five-match Test Series, which marks their first foray into the World Test Championship (WTC) 2025-27 campaign. The team will be without the services of Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli, both of whom retired from Tests just a month before the start of the series. There have been many young names in the team that is set to be captained by Shubman Gill. Karun Nair has also made his return to the squad for the first time in 8 years. It looks like Nair's place in the playing XI might also have been confirmed.

The BCCI posted a video on their social media accounts, dedicated to Karun Nair on their Instagram profile, highlighting the story of his comeback. Nair's former Karnataka teammate KL Rahul also shared a special message on this video. "A comeback story with Karun Nair. P.S. - A special message from KL Rahul," the BCCI captioned the video. This is a massive indication that Naie is indeed making a comeback to the India Test playing XI after 8 long years.

In the video KL Rahul revealed that it was lonely and hard for Karun Nair, and the amount of hard work he put in to come back, including playing County Cricket.

"I've known him for a very long time and the months that he spent here in the UK playing cricket and how hard and how lonely it was and for him to be able to do all of that and come back into the Indian team. think it's special for him, for his family, and for friends like us who've seen his journey. So, like I said very inspiring as well and hopefully his experience and his learnings from playing county cricket here will hold him in good stead when he plays the Test matches here," Rahul said
