After two years of gruelling cricket, Australia and South Africa are battling for the ultimate prize in the 2025 World Test Championship (WTC) final at Lord's from Wednesday (June 11) with the aim of being crowned the champions of the third edition.
Australia are looking to create history and become the first two-time champions of the tournament, having also won the 2023 edition after beating India in the final. Meanwhile, South Africa is looking to win an ICC trophy for the first time in 27 years.
Alongside the prestigious trophy, the two teams are also competing for a handsome prize money. All nine participating teams in the 2023-25 WTC cycle were given a major cash reward by the ICC. Overall, the world cricket body announced a prize pool of $5.76m (Rs. 49.24 crore approx).
ICC World Test Championship 2023-25 Prize Money
The winner of the clash between Australia and South Africa will be awarded $3.6 million (Rs. 30.78 crore approx) while the runner-up will be given $2.16 million (Rs. 18.56 crore approx). Meanwhile, India, which failed to reach the final for the first time, will receive $1.44 million (Rs. 12.13 crore approx).

The prize money for the 2023-25 edition has seen a drastic rise from the previous two editions. In 2021 and 2023, the total prize pool was $3.8 million (Rs. 32.49 Crores approx), while the winners (New Zealand and Australia) received $1.6 million (Rs. 13.68 crores approx) while the runners-up (India) got $0.8 million (Rs. 7.6) croreas on both occasions.
