The Indian cricket team is all geared up to face England in the five-match Test series. The series will mark the beginning of a new era of Indian cricket under the leadership of Shubman Gill. The 25-year-old was named the skipper of the side following the retirement of Rohit Sharma. Virat Kohli also retired from the format ahead of the Test series, leaving India short on experience, but not on quality.
Rishabh Pant was also handed a big responsibility and was named the vice-captain of the side. Pant's white-ball form hasn't been great lately, but he is a force to reckon with in the Test format. Pant's flamboyance and aggression make him an asset for India in Test cricket.

Rishabh Pant Suffers Injury Scare

Meanwhile, India survived a major scare ahead of the first Test as Rishabh Pant escaped a big injury during practice. The left-hander was hit on the left arm during the practice session at Beckenham. According to a report in RevSportz, Pant's injury, however, wasn't serious, which was confirmed by Pant as well as the team doctor.

KL Rahul Shines In Practice Game

Meanwhile, India would be delighted to see KL Rahul score runs in the practice game against the England Lions. Rahul, who scored 116 in the first innings, notched up another fifty in the second innings. In the absence of Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma, Rahul is the most experienced batter in the team, and runs from him will bring a huge sigh of relief to Team India.

Where Will KL Rahul Bat?

Rahul is one of the most technically sound batters in Team India. He opened with Rohit Sharma when India last toured England, so the odds are high that Rahul will be asked to open in the five match Test series, with Shubman Gill playing at three, and Karun Nair batting at four.
