Rinku Singh got engaged to politician Priya Saroj on Sunday (June 8). The star-studded affair was attended by many politicians and celebrities. Priya is a member of the Lok Sabha. "This day has been in our hearts for so long - almost three years - and the wait was worth every second. Engaged - with full hearts and a forever to go," Rinku wrote in his Instagram post.
Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) CEO, Venky Mysore, was also in attendance in the engagement ceremony. But Shah Rukh Khan wasn't part of the ceremony. The KKR's co-owner could attend Rinku's wedding, which will reportedly take place on November 18.
SRK promised Rinku that he would attend his wedding and also dance at the function. The Bollywood star made the promise after Rinku hit Yash Dayal for five back-to-back sixes during the IPL 2023 match between KKR and Gujarat Titans.
KKR needed 29 runs to win the final over. Umesh Yadav did his job by taking a single on the first ball. Rinku did the rest by smashing Yash for five back-to-back sixes to pull off the heist for KKR.
“Sir (Shah Rukh Khan) called me after that. He was talking about my marriage. SRK said people call me for their marriage, I don't go. Mein teri shaadi mein aunga naachne (I will come to your wedding to dance)," Rinku revealed in 2023. It remains to be seen if SRK attends Rinku's wedding or not.
KKR retained Rinku for Rs 13 crore before the IPL 2025 mega-auction. He didn't have a memorable run in the season and managed to score 206 runs in 13 matches. He didn't score a half-century in the season.
Rinku also struggled in IPL 2024 and only scored 168 runs in 15 matches. Shreyas Iyer-led Kolkata Knight Riders defeated Sunrisers Hyderabad in the final to lift the trophy for third time.
