Carlos Alcaraz defied odds to beat Jannik Sinner 6-4, 7-6, 4-6, 6-7, 6-7 in a thrilling French Open final. Sinner started in fine fashion and took a comfortable 2-0 lead in the first two sets before breaking Alcaraz's serve early in set three, however, Alcaraz bounced back in style to break Sinner thrice and take the set 6-4.
Sinner was on the verge of a historic win after he was 5-3 and 0-40 up on Alcaraz's serve in the fourth set, but the Spanish wizard didn't give up and made a remarkable recovery, saving three Championship points and breaking Sinner's serve in the next game to push the game to the tie-breaker, which he won and forced the decider fifth set.
