Is Sanju Samson leaving Rajasthan Royals (RR) and joining Chennai Super Kings (CSK)? Samson's latest post on Instagram left the fans talking about a potential move to CSK. The RR captain shared a pic with his wife and captioned it: "Time to MOVE..!!" The Yellow line on the road left fans speculating about Samson seemingly moving to CSK.
"Seems Sanju is set to leave RR and join CSK," a user wrote on Sanju's post. "He is moving to CSK I TOLD YOU BEFORE," wrote another user. "Bro Chennai Super Kings coming button," commented a user.
CSK will have to bring in Samson via trade if they wish to acquire his services. CSK can also sign Samson in the IPL 2026 mini-auction but it can only happen if RR release him. Ruturaj Gaikwad is the present captain of CSK.
Sanju Samson's IPL career
Sanju Samson started his IPL career with Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) and was part of their 2012 IPL-winning team. He didn't get to make his debut for them. Samson was signed by RR before IPL 2013. He stayed with them till 2015.
Samson represented Delhi Capitals (then known as Delhi Daredevils) in IPL 2016 and 2017. RR re-signed Samson at the IPL 2018 mega-auction and retained him before the IPL 2022 and 2025 mega-auctions.
Samson took over RR's captaincy before IPL 2021. He led the inaugural IPL Champions to the final of IPL 2022. RR haven't played a final since then. RR have won 33 and lost 32 matches under Samson.
With 4027 runs, Samson is RR's highest run-scorer in IPL. He is their only batsman with more than 4000 runs in the league. Jos Buttler, who sits in second position, has scored 3055 runs.
Samson's early success in IPL saw him break into the national team for the England tour in 2014. He made his debut in 2015. Samson is presently part of India's T20I team.
