The ACC Women's Emerging Teams Asia Cup, which was originally scheduled to start in Sri Lanka on June 6, 2025, has been rescheduled, according to the Asian Cricket Council (ACC). Following discussions regarding a letter from Mr. Shammi Silva, President of the Sri Lanka Cricket Board, to the President of the ACC, requesting a postponement of the event due to unfavourable weather conditions in Sri Lanka and health concerns due to the spread of chikungunya disease in the area, the tournament has been postponed.
The ACC recognizes the value of developing new talent in the area and advancing women's cricket. "The ACC is committed to providing opportunities for young women cricketers to develop their skills and compete at the highest level. We understand the strategic significance of this tournament in shaping the future of women's cricket in Asia, and we will work diligently to reschedule the event at the earliest possible date," said Mr. Mohsin Naqvi, President Asian Cricket Council.
The ACC will notify all participating teams, players, commercial partners, and stakeholders of the tournament's new dates when they become available.
India A, Bangladesh A, Pakistan A, Sri Lanka A, the United Arab Emirates, Nepal, the hosts Hong Kong, and Malaysia participated in the inaugural tournament, which was held in Hong Kong in 2023. Three of India A's matches, including the semifinal, ended up being a damp squib with rain forcing a washout. India A defeated Bangladesh A by 31 runs in the final to win the title.
