Virat Kohli's dream of winning the IPL trophy came true in the 18th season after Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) defeated Punjab Kings (PBKS) in the final at the Narendra Modi Stadium. RCB were the deserving tournament winners and played their best cricket of all seasons. They had a terrific auction where they compiled a strong squad, with a heavy batting and an equally potent bowling attack.

RCB fetched nine wins in 14 matches in the league stage before beating PBKS twice in Qualifier 1 and the final to lift the trophy.

Kohli has been the face of IPL and holds a plethora of great records in the league, but the trophy was missing from his cabinet, however, with the win in IPL 2025, Kohli's career has completed a full circle. Kohli was emotional after the RCB win and broke down in tears - the tears of joy.

Kohli also shared an adorable moment with Ravi Shastri after RCB's maiden title win. In the video that went viral on social media, Kohli ran towards Ravi Shastri and gave him a tight hug.

Virat Kohli Not Retiring

Meanwhile, there were rumours that Kohli might retire after winning the IPL trophy, however, the veteran put an end to the speculations and dropped a big hint that he is far from over in IPL.

"As I said, I've given everything that I had for the last 18 years. I've stayed loyal to this team, no matter what. I've had moments where I thought otherwise, but I stuck to this team. I stood behind them, they stood behind me. And I always dreamt of winning it with them. And this is far more special than winning it with anyone else because my heart is with Bangalore, my soul is with Bangalore. And as I said, this is the team I'm going to play for till the last day that I play the IPL," said Kohli.
