Gujarat Titans (GT) are currently taking on Mumbai Indians (MI) in the eliminator of the IPL 2025 at the Maharaja Yadavindra Singh Stadium in Mulanpur. GT will be looking to get momentum back into their stride, as they come into this game on the back of two back-to-back losses in their final two games in the league stage. However, GT will be missing a key member of their team in this crucial match in the form of star England wicketkeeper-batter Jos Buttler.

Jos Buttler is currently not in the squad for the Gujarat Titans. He played all 14 games of the IPL 2025 group stage, but then left for England before the IPL 2025 playoffs. This is because he is part of the England squad that is currently taking on West Indies in three ODIs and three T20Is.

In his place, Sri Lankan wicketkeeper-batter Kusal Mendis has joined the squad. He has replaced Jos Buttler in the playing XI.

Jos Buttler has had a great outing in his first season for the Gujarat Titans in IPL 2025. He drifted away from his usual position as an opener and scored crucial runs coming in at no.3.

He scored 538 runs at an average of 59.78 and a strike rate of 163.03. He scored five fifties with a highest score of 97*.
