Hardik Pandya-led Mumbai Indians (MI) will take on Shubman Gill's Gujarat Titans (GT) in the eliminator of the IPL 2025 on Friday (May 30). The winning team of the fixture will meet Punjab Kings (PBKS) in the second qualifier while the losing team will crash out. The winner of the eliminator will also have to win the second qualifier to make it to the final.

With 8 wins from 14 matches, MI finished at the fourth spot in the points table. They struggled at the start of the tournament but bounced back strongly as the tournament progressed.

A win over Punjab Kings (PBKS) in their last league stage match would have seen MI finish in the top 2. But they will now have to win three back-to-back matches to lift the trophy.

GT won 9 out of 14 matches to finish at the third spot. They were at the top spot for a long time but lost their last two matches. The defeats saw them move out of the top 2.

GT will be without the services of Jos Buttler and Kagiso Rabada. They signed Kusal Mendis to replace Buttler and he looks set to make his IPL debut. GT didn't sign Rabada's replacement.

MI will be without the services of Will Jacks, Corbin Bosch and Ryan Rickelton for the fixture. They have been replaced by Richard Gleeson, Jonny Bairstow and Charith Asalanka.

Jacks and Buttler are part of the England-West Indies series while Bosch, Rickelton and Rabada returned home to prepare for the World Test Championship final.

The toss between Mumbai Indians and Gujarat Titans will take place at 7:00 PM IST. The first ball will be bowled at 7:30 PM IST. The captain winning the toss might opt to bowl first. The winner of the eliminator will take on Punjab Kings in the second qualifier on June 1.
