Punjab Kings (PBKS) have had a dream run in IPL 2025 and they are now set to play a playoff game after a long wait of 11 years. The management revamped the coaching staff and the team and brought in Ricky Ponting as the head coach before IPL 2025. Ponting's arrival at PBKS did wonders for them and they topped the points table.

The Shreyas Iyer-led side won 9 out of 14 matches to finish at the top spot. Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB), PBKS' opponent for the first qualifier, also had the same number of points and wins.

Ahead of the all-important qualifier, Ponting picked as many as 4 uncapped PBKS players who can play for India. The uncapped players have played a key role in PBKS' success in the season.

"There is four of them who can. You look at Priyansh Arya. He has been a revelation for us at the top of the order. I must have watched, I don't know how many hours of video I watched on him going into the auction, but he was the one that I wanted to make sure that we got," Ponting told PTI.

"Prabh is probably the obvious one when you talk about playing for India. Still only 24 years of age. I read somewhere the other day that he's now got the most runs for an uncapped player in IPL history. Wadhera is someone that I think could play for India as well in the middle order. And Shashank, you've only got to look at the cold, hard numbers with him. His strike rate and boundary percentage at the end of innings is as good as anyone going around."

A little-known Priyansh Arya took IPL by storm at the start of the league. He has scored 424 runs with a strike rate of 183.54. His tally includes a century and 2 half-centuries.

PBKS had full faith in Prabhsimran Singh and they retained him before the IPL 2025 mega-auction. The right-handed batsman has scored 499 runs with a strike rate of 165.78.

Shashank Singh and Nehal Wadhera have been among the best finishers in IPL 2025. Shashank has scored 284 runs in 11 innings with a strike rate of 149.47. Nehal has scored 298 runs with a strike rate of 152.04.

A win over RCB will see PBKS make it to their second IPL final. They will get one more chance to qualify for the summit clash if they fall short against the visiting team.
