PBKS vs RCB, Qualifier 1 Pitch Report: IPL Stats And Records At Mullanpur, Chandigarh (Source: BCCI/IPL)
Punjab Kings (PBKS) will take on Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) at Mullanpur today, May 29, in Qualifier 1 of the Indian Premier League (IPL). Both teams had an outstanding run in the league stage and ended up winning nine out of the 14 games.
PKBS have been fearless under the leadership of Shreyas Iyer. They have largely been inconsistent in IPL, but the Iyer-Ponting combination has worked wonders for the side in the ongoing season. Young guns like Priyansh Arya, Prabhsimran Singh, along with Iyer have been standouts for the team with the bat, while Arshdeep Singh and Marco Jansen have been in good wicket-taking form. Jansen, however, won't be available for the clash as he has returned home due to national duties.
For RCB, Virat Kohli has been fantastic, scoring 602 runs in 13 matches. Over the years, RCB struggled with a bleak bowling attack, but IPL 2025 has been different, and it is the bowlers who have played an equally important role in the wins. Josh Hazlewood with 18 wickets has been brilliant. He was well supported by Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Krunal Pandya in the group stage, and RCB will hope that the bowlers continue their good run in the playoffs too.
PBKS vs RCB Pitch Report
The surface at Mullanpur is generally good to bat. The ball comes nicely onto the bat, and there is very little help on offer for the bowlers after the first couple of overs with the new ball. Fast outfield and short boundaries further aid the batters in dominating the bowlers.
