An India coach who was sacked by the BCCI has been reinstated for a year. T Dilip has made his return as India's fielding coach. He was among the members of the coaching staff sacked by the board in April. Apart from him, Abhishek Nayar was the other big name sacked by the BCCI. He made his return to Kolkata Knight Riders after getting sacked.
Dilip didn't join an IPL team and is now set to work with the national team again. He first joined Team India as the fielding coach under Rahul Dravid. Dravid's stint ended after the 2024 T20 World Cup.
Dilip was the only key member of Dravid's staff who was retained by the BCCI when Gautam Gambhir took over the charge. Dilip was part of India's coaching staff in the 2025 Champions Trophy, which the Men in Blue won.
Dilip caught everyone's attention when he introduced the medals for the Fielder of the Match award. The ceremony was introduced during the 2023 ODI World Cup.
