As many as 3 Mumbai Indians (MI) players left the camp after their last league stage match of IPL 2025. Will Jacks, Ryan Rickelton and Corbin Bosch will not be part of MI's season anymore due to their international cricket commitments. The MI team gave them a farewell in the dressing room after the defeat against Punjab Kings (PBKS).
Jacks is part of the England cricket team for the home series against West Indies. The first game of the series is scheduled to be played on May 29.
Rickelton and Bosch are part of South Africa's squad for the 2025 World Test Championship final and will soon kick off their prepartions for the summit clash. The final between SA and Australia is scheduled to be played from June 11 to 15.
Jacks scored 233 runs and scalped 6 wickets in 13 games for MI. The franchise was keen to sign him and thanked Royal Challengers Bengaluru after they didn't use the Right to Match on him. With 388 runs, Rickelton is MI's second-highest run-scorer. The MI opener hit 3 half-centuries.
Bosch scored 47 runs and scalped 1 wicket in 3 matches he played. MI have roped in Jonny Bairstow, Richard Gleeson and Charith Asalanka as their replacements. Bairstow looks set to open the innings with Rohit Sharma in the eliminator.
MI miss out on top 2 spot
MI missed out on finishing in the top 2 and will have to play the eliminator now. A win over PBKS would have seen them jump to the top spot. The teams finishing in the top 2 get two chances to make it to the final.
PBKS will now meet either RCB or Gujarat Titans in the first qualifier on May 29. The eliminator is scheduled to be played on May 30. The final of IPL 2025 will be held on June 3 in Ahmedabad.
