Punjab Kings (PBKS) ended their long wait of 11 years as they have finally qualified for the playoffs after 11 years in IPL 2025. In fact, they won against Mumbai Indians (MI) in their final league game to secure a spot in the top of the table, which gives them two chances to qualify oin the IPL 2025 final. Captain Shreyas Iyer and head coach Ricky Ponting have been credited massively for the turnaround. Amidst this star batter Shashank Singh has made a massive revelation on how they treat their star spinner Yuzvendra Chahal.
At the post-match press conference after the victory vs Mumbai Indians, Shashank Singh revealed that Ponting and Shreyas had told them on the very first day that they will treat everyone equally, from the seniormost player Yuzvendra Chahal to the bus driver. They have maintained this, giving the same respect to both Chahal and the bus driver.
"Day 1, Ricky Ponting and Shreyas both told us. Like, they will treat Yuzvendra Chahal, maybe the most senior player, and our bus driver the same. I mean, this is something and they have maintained this. They have shown the same respect to Yuzvendra Chahal and to our bus driver, which says a lot about the team,” Shashank said.

'Ricky Ponting Changed Team Culture'

Shashank Singh also revealed that Ricky Ponting completely changed the team culture, and infused a positive mindset in te dressing room.
“He has changed the team culture. He has changed our mindset. He has changed our beliefs. So, all those things, the credit has to be to him. Because, obviously, he is the one who changed our perspective towards the game. Culture, what I said. Caring about each other. Respecting each other. I mean, it's very easy to say all these things. Obviously, you need to do this, you need to do that. But again, building it is a different thing. So, he made sure that he built the culture within the dressing, room”
