Suryakumar is the first MI player to cross the 600-run mark in a season twice. Infact, only Sachin Tendulkar has scored more than 600 runs in a season for MI apart from the Indian T20I captain. Suryakumar has made 640 runs in 14 innings at an average of 71.11.
Suyakumar has the second-best average by a player with more than 600 runs in an IPL season after Virat Kohli (81.08) in the 2016 season when he made the record tally of 973 runs.
Through the course of his knock, Suryakumar broke Sachin's record for the most runs in a single season for MI. The current mentor of the franchise made 618 runs in the 2010 season when they reached the final for the first time.
