Shreyas Iyed-led Punjab Kings (PBKS) are confirmed to finish in the top 2 after their win over Mumbai Indians (MI) in the 69th match of IPL 2025. They will play the first qualifier on May 29. Gujarat Titans are at the second spot but can lose that position.
PBKS are presently at the top spot. They have 19 points in their account at an NRR of +0.372. Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) are the only team which can have a maximum of 19 points now. They will face Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) in the last league stage match of IPL 2025. A win will see them move to the second spot while they will remain at the third position if they lose.
Points Table
With 9 wins from 14 matches, Gujarat Titans (GT) sit at the second spot in the points table. But they will lose it to RCB if they win their last match. GT lost their last two league stage matches.
MI are at the fourth spot and they are confirmed to finish at that position. The five-time IPL Champions will play the eliminator on May 30. They will also have to win the second qualifier to make it to the final.
Orange Cap
There was no change here and Sai Sudharsan continues to hold the Orange Cap. The Gujarat Titans opener has scored 679 runs in 14 matches. He is followed by Shubman Gill, who has 649 runs.
With 640 runs, Suryakumar Yadav sits at the third spot. He now holds the record for scoring most runs by a Mumbai Indians batsman in an IPL season.
Purple Cap
With 24 wickets, Noor Ahmad holds the Purple Cap. Chennai Super Kings have already crashed out. He is followed by Prasidh Krishna, who has 23 wickets. Gujarat Titans are confirmed to play at least one more match. Trent Boult has 19 wickets and sits at the third spot.
