Abhishek Sharma Creates History
Sharma ended his roller-coaster season with a tally of 439 runs in 13 innings at a strike-rate of 193.39. He made one century as well as two half-centuries. The Indian opener made a poor start to the campaign but found his groove in the second half.
Abhishek had made a mark as one of the world's most explosive T20 batters in the 2024 campaign when he made 484 runs in 16 innings at a strike-rate of 204.21, which included three half-centuries and earned him a miaden India call-up.
Abhishek ends his 2025 campaign as the first player in IPL history from across the world to score more than 400 runs in a season at a strike-rate of above 190 twice in a season. He is only the second player to cross the 400-run mark twice at a strike rate of 180 in a season after Glenn Maxwell and the first player to achieve this feat his back-to-back seasons.

This marked the third time in his career that Abhishek crossed that 400-run mark in an IPL season after scoring 426 runs in the 2022 campaign which came at a relatively slower striker-rate of 133.12.
Abhishek made his maiden IPL century with a knock of 141 against Punjab Kings at the Rajiv Gandhi Stadium in Hyderabad earlier this season. That knock marked the highest individual score by an Indian in the history of the IPL as well as the highest in a run-chase by a player in the league's 17-year history.
Overall, Abhishek has 7 tons in T20 cricket, which is the third-highest by an Indian behind Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma. Two of them have come for the Indian team less than a year after their debut for the Men in Blue in international cricket. He is also the youngest player to score seven tons in the shortest format of the game.
Talking about the match, a 37-ball century from Heinrich Klaasen and a quick-fire half-century from Travis Head helped SRH post 237 on the board, which is the third-highest total in IPL history.
