KEY HIGHLIGHTS
- Heinrich Klaasen created history vs KKR
- Klaasen hit a 37-ball ton
- Klaasen hit the second century of his IPL career
Heinrich Klaasen was the star of the show as Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) ended their 2025 Indian Premier League (IPL) campaign on a high by claiming sixth place after securing a third win in a row with a 111-run victory over Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) on Sunday (May 25) at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi
The South African star walked out to bat in the 7th over after Travis Head (76 of 40) and Abhishek Sharma (32 of 16) put up a massive opening partnership of 90 runs in just 41 balls. Klaasen continued the momentum for SRH and played one of IPL's greatest knocks as he made a century in just 37 balls to help Hyderabad post a total of 278, the third-highest in IPL history. Klaasen finished unbeaten on 105 in 39 balls in a knock that included seven boundaries and nine sixes and came with a strike-rate (SR) of 269.23.
Heinrich Klaasen Shatters Record Books
Klaasen's SR is the second-highest in IPL history for a player to score a century and the highest by an overseas player in history. He narrowly misses Yusuf Pathan's record, which he while playing for the Rajasthan Royals (RR) against the Mumbai Indians (MI) in the 2010 season at the Brabourne Stadium in Mumbai.

Overall, Klaasen's knock is the joint-third quickest century in IPL history alongside Yusuf, whose ton had also come in 37 balls. Only Chris Gayle (30 balls) and Vaibhav Suryavanshi scored centuries quicker than the Sunrisers star.
Klaasen's knock is the quickest in IPL history by a South African player, breaking Miller's (38 balls) set 12 years ago. The South African also scored the fastest ton for SRH breaking Travis Head's (39 balls) set against RCB last year in Bengaluru.
This was also the quickest ton against KKR, making Klaasen the first player to score a ton against the three-time champions in less than 40 balls.
