Kohli, Rohit, Sarfaraz OUT; 5 Players IN: Changes In India Squad For England Tests From Border-Gavaskar Trophy (Source: AP)

The BCCI announced the India squad for the five-match Test series against England. It will be a new look team India that will tour England as Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma won't be part of the squad following their retirements from the format.
Shubman Gill was named the captain of the side, and Rishabh Pant was named his deputy. Jasprit Bumrah's name was discussed for the leadership role but was dropped due to his workload management, which won't allow him to play all five Tests. Sai Sudharsan and Karun Nair was added to the squad while Sarfaraz Khan was snubbed.
Another notable absentee from the squad was Mohammed Shami, who was not picked due to fitness concerns. Shami is playing the IPL, but he was deemed unfit to play a five day Test by the medical team.

Changes In India Squad From Border-Gavaskar Trophy

The BCCI retained as many as 13 players from the squad that featured in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy. Five new faces found a place in the squad, while six players were left out.

OUT: Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, Devdutt Padikkal, Sarfaraz Khan, Ravichandran Ashwin, Harshit Rana
