Neeraj Chopra will compete at the Janusz Kusocinski Memorial 2025 athletics meet in Poland on May 23. Building on his 90-meter milestone in the Doha Diamond League, Chopra will look to better his feat at the World Athletics Continental Tour silver event.
At the Diamond League opener, Chopra led the field until Germany’s Julian Weber unleashed a 91.06m throw in his final attempt, edging the Indian into second place. Weber, a European champion in 2022 and silver medallist in 2024, will be there in Poland. Anderson Peters, too, will be competing in the event, making it a fascinating battle.
Started in 1954, the Chorzów meet is also one of the oldest competitions continuously hosted in Poland and Europe. The Janusz Kusocinski Memorial event will be Neeraj’s third competition of the season.
Polish national record holder Marcin Krukowski (PB: 89.55m) and compatriots Cyprian Mrzyglod (PB: 84.97m) and Dawid Wegner (PB: 82.21m), Andrian Mardare (86.66m) of Moldova and Ukraine's Artur Felfner (PB: 84.32m) complete the eight-man field.
