Jasprit Bumrah was at his best as the Mumbai Indians (MI) thrashed Delhi Capitals (DC) by 59 runs at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai to seal their spot in the playoffs. MI are the fourth team to qualify after Gujarat Titans (GT), Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB), and Punjab Kings (PBKS).
Bumrah bowled a magical spell as he took three wickets and gave away just 12 runs as Delhi were bowled out for 121 after the hosts put up a massive total of 180 on the board on a tricky surface. Mitchell Santner was the pick of the MI bowling unit as he also took three wickets while giving away just 11 runs in four overs.
As far as Bumrah is concerned, he got the big wicket of Tristan Stubbs which was a match-changing moment before getting the wickets of Madhav Tiwari and Mustafizur Rahman.

Jasprit Bumrah Creates History

With his stunning spell, Bumrah etched his name in the history books as it was his 25th three-wicket haul (three or more wickets) in IPL history. The 31-year-old is the first bowler from across the world in IPL history tto complete a quarter of three-fors in the league's 18-year history. Bumrah and Yuzvendra Chahal are the only bowlers to have more than 20 three-wicket hauls in the league.

Earlier in the IPL, Bumrah went past Lasith Malinga's record to become MI's highest wicket-taker as well as the pacer with the most wickets for one team in the league's history. Bumrah now has 181 wickets to his name, which is the third most by a pacer and sixth most overall.
Despite missing the first four matches of the season, Bumrah is the sixth-highest wicket-taker in the 2025 IPL with 16 wickets in nine matches.
