'You Can't Keep Coming And Messing': Dhoni Faces Wrath, Told To 'Move Away' After CSK's 10th Loss In IPL 2025 (Source: BCCI/IPL)

Former India cricketer Kris Srikkanth feels that CSK captain MS Dhoni should move away from the IPL if he can't get the job done for the team. Dhoni has had an average outing in IPL 2025 and scored 195 runs in 113 games. The veteran scored 16 runs in 17 balls against the Rajasthan Royals as CSK succumbed to yet another defeat in IPL 2025.
Srikkanth highlighted Dhoni's age and said the team can't expect much from him. He said Dhoni should have clarity about his role in CSK if he wants to return and play again for CSK.
“Dhoni is also ageing, you can’t expect too much from him. But at the same time, you can’t keep coming and messing it up, if you are not able to do it, say you’re not able to do it and walk away. That’s a call Dhoni can only take. Whether he will continue, if he continues, then in what role: captain, wicket keeper or finisher?” Srikkanth said on his YouTube channel.
“In all fairness, his reflexes have gone down. His knees might have given up, his fitness, reflex level everything will obviously come down. And moreover, the top order is flopping,” Srikkanth said.
Srikkanth said that age has caught up with Dhoni and he is not able to replicate the performances that he delivered for the side a few years ago.
“The problem with CSK today is that Dhoni is not able to replicate his own game. Spinners are tying him down. Once, he used to hit off spinners 10 rows into the stands. In all fairness, he is struggling,” Srikkanth added.
CSK are languishing at the bottom of the table with three wins, and there is a good chance the team would end up as the lowest ranked team even if they win their final league game of IPL 2025.
