Rajasthan Royals (RR) ended their IPL 2025 campaign with a six-wicket win over Chennai Super Kings (CSK). It was a horrible season for the Royals who won just four and lost 10 games. RR have themselves to blame for the miserable season. There were multiple games where RR had the upper hand, but they let it slip away and ended up suffering a defeat.
Despite a poor outing as a team, RR had some positives to take from IPL 2025. The biggest of them all was the find of 14-year-old Vaibhav Suryavanshi, who grabbed eyeballs with his breathtaking strokeplay. Suryavanshi played seven matches and scored 252 runs, including a hundred and a fifty at a strike rate of 206.55. Yashasvi Jaiswal too had a great season and scored 559 runs in 14 games, including six fifties.

Fazalhaq Farooqi's Disastrous Campaign

Meanwhile, a few RR players failed to live up to expectations, which hurt the team. One of them was Fazalhaq Farooqi, who failed to pick a wicket in the entire season. Farooqi played five matches for RR and conceded 210 runs without taking a single wicket. This is a record for most runs conceded by a bowler in a T20 tournament without taking a wicket. The embarrassing record was held by Jerome Taylor, who conceded 193 runs for Jamaica in CPL 2019. In IPL, Ishant Sharma conceded 179 runs for Kings XI Punjab in the 2017 edition.

RR Likely To Escape Last Place Finish

RR are placed ninth on the table, and CSK are 10th, but they have a game left. If CSK win the last game, they will be tied on points with RR. However, the Royals are unlikely to slip down to 10 due to their superior run rate to CSK, but it would hardly have any impact on the team, who'll be disappointed after a shambolic IPL 2025.
