For those unversed, in many cultures, especially in India, touching the feet of elders is considered a gesture of respect as well as a means of taking their blessing.
Suryavanshi (aged 14) and Dhoni (aged 43) are the youngest and oldest players in the 2025 IPL. The Royals' batter is the youngest player in the league's history, while Dhoni is the third-oldest player to feature since the league's inception in 2008.
Talking about the match, RR skipper Sanju Samson won the toss and chose to bowl first in their final game of the season. CSK put up a score of 186 on the board with mid-season signings Ayush Mhatre (43 of 20) and Dewald Brevis (42 of 25) finishing as the top scorers. Akash Madhwal was the pick of the bowlers for RR with a three-wicket haul in which he gave away just 29 runs.
In reply, Yashasvi Jaiswal gave RR a quick start with a 19-ball 36 before Suryavanshi took centre stage and finished as the Royals' top scorer. Sanju Samson also played a vital knock of 41 in 31 balls before Dhruv Jurel's 12-ball 31 ensured the 2008 champions ended their campaign with a victory with 17 balls to spare.
Suryanvanshi ends his 2025 IPL campaign with 252 runs in seven innings at an average of 36 and a stunning strike-rate of 206.55.
