Travis Head is not part of Sunrisers Hyderabad's (SRH) line-up against Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) in their first 2025 Indian Premier League (IPL) game since the league's restart at the Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ekana Cricket Stadium in Lucknow on Monday (May 19).

Travis is missing out after testing positive for COVID-19 on his return to India for the tournament as per remarks made by SRH's head coach Daniel Vettori on the eve of the match.

“Travis is coming in tomorrow morning, he was delayed. He actually had COVID, so he couldn’t travel, so he’ll get in tomorrow morning and we’ll assess how he is after that,” said Vettori in the pre-match press conference.

Head has had a substandard season by his standards following his heroic display in his debut season for SRH in the 2024 season. So far in the 2025 IPL, the Australian star has made 281 runs in 10 innings at an average of 28.10 and a strike-rate of 156.11. The 31-year-old has two half-centuries this season.

Head's poor form has been a key reason behind a forgettable campaign for the 2024 IPL runners-up, who are one of the four teams that are knocked out of the playoff race. SRH have won just three of their 11 games and lost seven matches. They are currently eighth in the table.
